The Palace on wheels is rated as one of the top ten luxury train journeys in the world. It offers you a heart-rending trip to the splendid forts and palaces of Rajasthan in just seven days. Also discover the royal history of the Taj Mahal in Agra, which takes you on a vibrating journey to the royal land of sand dunes and regal palaces. Step inside the Palace on Wheels and discover the elegance and pomp of a bygone era. This moving palace crisscrosses through the land of Maharajas Rajasthan and you travel in utmost luxury and pampering and no less a maharaja for the royal treatment is the byword of this luxury train journey. The journey to the hinterland of the desert starts every Wednesday evening at 1800 Hrs from Delhi and ends on the following Wednesday early in the morning at 0730 Hrs.

Delhi: India's capital city, Delhi depicts the myriad colors of different kinds of lifestyles that are a mix of contemporary and traditional sensibilities. It is a reservoir of cultures, traditions and politics. A visit to its several architectural masterpieces of ancient and medieval times is always a delight.

1600 Hrs: Check-in at venue Safdurjung Railway Station.

1630 Hrs: Guests are accorded a warm traditional welcome at the Railway station before boarding the Palace-on-Wheels.

1830 Hrs: Start Journey to Jaipur, Dinner served on board.

Jaipur: Founded in 1727 and the former capital of the Kachwaha rulers, Jaipur today is a versatile tourist destination. Famed as the 'Pink City', this capital city of Rajasthan boasts of a rich historical past that is depicted in its forts, palaces, Havelis and its colorful bazaars.0345 Hrs: Early morning arrive at Jaipur. The city of Jaipur was built by Raja Jai Singh in the 18th century and is famous for its renowned palaces, forts and temples.

03:45 Hrs: Arrive in Jaipur.

07:00 Hrs: Refreshing breakfast onboard Palace on Wheels India.

08:15 Hrs: Jaipur city tour by coach. Visit sites like Albert Hall Museum, Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar, and City Palace.

13:30 Hrs: Lunch at a Star Hotel.

15:00 Hrs: An excursion to Amber Fort and enjoy an elephant ride.

17:00 Hrs: Exploration of local markets in Jaipur.

19:00 Hrs: Return to the train.

19:30 Hrs: Dinner on-board.

20:00 Hrs: Leave for Sawai Madhopur from Durgapura Railway Station Jaipur.

Sawai Madhopur: is a beautiful city of Rajasthan, which is extremely popular for housing the world-renowned Ranthambore National Park. The UNESCO World Heritage Site of the historic Ranthambore Fort is an added attraction. It was a planned city that was founded by Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh I of Jaipur.

Chittorgarh: Popular for the tales of valor and romance of its erstwhile royalty, Chittorgarh was the former capital of the Sisodia clan of Mewar. Placed on the banks of rivers Gambhiri and Berach, this city has magnificent forts, ruined castles and glorious royal structures. Chittorgarh has a total of 7 huge entries.

0530 Hrs: Arrive Sawai Madhopur

0630 Hrs: proceed to the National park and enjoy a safari in the Park.

Ranthambore – the private hunting ground of the Maharajas. It was declared a Nationals Park in 1973. You may have the chance to see the wildlife that includes tigers, sambar, chital, nilgai, chinkara, wild boar, sloth bear, hyena, jackal and leopard.

0915 Hrs: Return to the train and Breakfast on Board

1030 Hrs: Continue your journey towards Chittorgarh.

Lunch on board.

1600 Hrs: arrive at Chittorgarh and visit the famous fort.  The Chittorgarh Fort is considered the largest fort of India, built by various Mauriyan rulers during the 5th to 8th century period,

1830 Hrs: Later in the evening enjoy a Hi-tea followed by a light and sound show at Chittorgarh Fort.

2000 Hrs: Return to Train & Dinner on board.

Udaipur: Also known as the 'City of Lakes Udaipur is called Rajasthan's most romantic city because of its picturesque setting, Rajputana palaces and lakes. The erstwhile capital of the Mewar kingdom, Udaipur was founded in 1553 by Maharana Udai Singh II. The city boasts of innumerable tourist attractions.

0800 Hrs: Arrival in Udaipur. The city was founded by Maharana Udai Singh of Mewar after the Sisodia dynasty was driven away by the Mughals.

0900 Hrs: Departure for Sight Seeing by coach and visit Sahelion Ki Bari, shopping and City Palace & Crystal Gallery.

1330 Hrs: After lunch at a Palace Hotel, we see one of the most beautiful sites of Udaipur, as we cross Lake Pichola by boat, past the majestic Lake Palace Hotel idyllically situated in the middle of the lake.

1500 Hrs: The Luxury coach will take you back to Palace on Wheels.

1530 Hrs: departure for Jaisalmer

20:00 Hrs: A deluxe dinner aboard Palace on Wheels.

Jaisalmer: The Golden City-Nicknamed as the Golden City, the city of Jaisalmer is very well-known for its Jaisalmer fort. This city has been named after Maharawal Jaisal Singh, a Rajput ruler who had established the city in 1156 AD. The city every year hosts its annual Dessert Festival, which is a major crowd puller.

0730 Hrs: Breakfast on Board

0915 hrs: Arrival at Jaisalmer. In the heart of the Thar Desert lies Jaisalmer, founded by Rawal Jaisal, in 1156A.D. Here the yellow sandstone fort is an imposing sight, towering magnificently over the city.

0930 hrs: Discover the painstakingly latticed Havelis or mansions with their grand facades. The Nathmalji-ki-haveli, Patwon- ki-haveli and Salim Singh-ki-haveli are fine examples of the stone carver’s skill.

1330 hrs: Enjoy lunch at the palace hotel.

1530 hrs: After lunch, go for an exciting camel ride on the sand dunes of Sam, before sipping a refreshing cup of tea enjoying the sunset.

1900 hrs: Arrival on the train.

1945 hrs: Later enjoy the dinner and the cultural programs at Palace Hotel.

After dinner, The Luxury coach will take you back to Palace on Wheels.

Jodhpur: The Blue City-Also is known as the 'Sun City' and the 'Blue City, Jodhpur was the erstwhile capital city of the kingdom of Marwar. Now a popular tourist destination, this city is quite famous for its proximity to the Thar desert and for its magnificent forts. It is dotted with innumerable attractions, worth visiting.

0700 hrs: Arrival at Jodhpur a city ringed by a high stone wall with seven gates and several bastions. This second-largest city of Rajasthan, founded by Rao Jodha in 1459 A.D. is known for its rock-solid Mehrangarh Fort.

0730 hrs: Breakfast on board.

0900 hrs: Proceed for a sightseeing tour of Jodhpur visiting Mehrangarh Fort. The grand palaces within- Moti Mahal, Sheesh Mahal, Phool Mahal, Sileh Khana and Daulat Khana are impressive examples of architectural excellence. Near the fort complex lies the Jaswant Thada, and a group of royal cenotaphs made of white marble.

1315 hrs: Lunch will be served at a city hotel.

1445 hrs: The Luxury coach will take you back to Palace on Wheels.

1500 hrs: Departure for Bharatpur. Dinner will be served on board

Bharatpur: Considered to be an impregnable city, Bharatpur was the erstwhile capital of the Jat Kingdom and now is a famous tourist destination. Also called Lohagarh, this city houses the very well-known Keoladeo Ghana National Park or Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary. This sanctuary is a haven for bird watchers.

Agra: Situated on the banks of the river Yamuna, the Mughal city of Agra also finds its mention in the Hindu epic of Mahabharat. The city houses 3 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including the Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The city is a blend of the old and the new worlds.

0500 hrs: Arrival at Bharatpur, early next morning, the Palace on Wheels arrives in Bharatpur, the capital of Maharaja Suraj Mal.

0600 hrs: Visit the world-famous bird sanctuary, Keoladeo Ghana National Park, the nesting place of thousands of Egrets, Siberian Cranes, migratory Water Fowl and other species of birds.

0830 hrs: The Luxury coach will take you back to Palace on Wheels for breakfast on board and you will depart for Agra

1030 hrs: Arrival at Agra Railway Station.

1100 hrs: Proceed for sightseeing tour of Agra visiting Red Fort

1330 hrs: Lunch at the 5 Star hotel.

1500 hrs: Move on to pay a visit to Taj Mahal, one of the seven wonders of the world. A pristine monument of undying love was built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved queen Mumtaz Mahal.

1730 hrs: Shopping Tour – Agra is also known for its splendid marble inlays to work like the Pietra Dura work on the Taj, leather goods and jewelry.

2000 hrs: Dinner will be taken at the hotel, later on, the Luxury coach will take you back to Palace on Wheels. Bid farewell to the train & perhaps a final drink in the lounge bar.

2330 hrs: Dinner and overnight on board.
